Silver Success for Teenage Judo Squad - October 2007

Huge congratulations to Hannah in the +63Kg category earning a silver medal win through an ippon (winning score) throw against a higher graded opponent.  Also to be mentioned in the +63Kg category was Emma Doherty of Woodcote School earning 4th place; And Jordan and Louise earning 5th place within their categories of -52Kg and -63Kg respectively.

Despite a tremendous effort from the boys, including an ippon win for James Jeffries in the -55Kg category, the competition was too extreme.

The winning moment of that day was one of Iain Greenwood's contests in the -81Kg category against a black belt (1st Dan) which went to fulltime and was narrowly lost in golden score.  The drive and skill shown within that contest showed the true calibre of player that is part of the Croydon Teenage Squad.
