The Boys Competition Report by James Jeffries
-66kg Naeem, Bronze -73kg James Milne, Silver -60kg Connor, Gold -60kg Chris, Silver -38kg Jacob, Bronze -24kg Ben, Bronze
Thomas was in a small weight group, lost his first fight, won the second with Ippon lost out for the silver but settled for bronze.
Naeem, getting into the swing of competitions now, put on a great performance and came out losing his first fight, but after having encouraging words with his coach Alan Rickard went out and won his next fight with an Ippon scoring throw.
James Milne fighting unfairly with people taller than him and heavier than him also put on a great show of judo coming out with a silver losing his first fight to points and winning his next with a hold down.
Connor amazed us all winning both of his fights with throws leading to win the matches. Chris was placed up against Connor in the final and sadly there had to be a looser and a winner. Both players came out with a lot of experience and medals.
Our final two medallists were Jacob Onyango who came away with a bronze medal in the under 38kg category, and Ben St. Clair-Gray who was also rewarded with a bronze for his efforts in the under 24kgs.
Unfortunately Callum -38kg lost his first fight in golden score, won his second and unfortunately lost out in the 3rd round for bronze. James Dawson – 46kg also put up a good fight but sadly lost both of his fight. He done very well as this was his 2nd or 3rd competition.
Sean -42kg same as Callum lost his first fight, won the second and lost out on the bronze. Vinicius put an excellent show of judo for his 1st competition but sadly lost to more experienced players.
