Most Croydon Judo Club sessions are open to players of all levels, but if your child is new or relatively new to Judo, then Monday nights are perfect. Sessions teach solid technique from the first steps and provide an opportunity to develop their judo through standing randori (free practice), groundwork and other training methods.

We are also fortunate to have other experienced players supporting Ashley on the mats which enable players to learn from each other. It also means that those who have been practising judo for some time will certainly get a good workout!

Focusing on learning judos fundamental skills, developing respect for each other, discipline and having great fun we welcome all.

Ashley Parrette

2nd Dan

Ashley started judo at the age of 11 and after a short break has returned to the club to coach and compete at international level. Winning a Commonwealth Masters Judo Championship Gold medal in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, in April 2016 was the highpoint of his competitive carrier to date. His impressive haul of 3 Gold, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze medal in 2016 speaks volumes about his love for the sport.

But whilst Ashley competes at a high level he encourages all players to maximize their potential, to learn and to enjoy each class.
