Advanced Junior

Wednesday

6:00 to 7:15pm

This class is aimed at our older junior players (11 – 16yrs), who wish to develop their judo technique, physical strength, agility, co-ordination, and general fitness, should they wish to enter competitions, or simply improve their club randori.

Each session starts with a dynamic warm-up, which includes strength, mobility, and cardio training. One tachi-waza and one ne-waza technique will be covered every three weeks, focusing on the adaption to different entries, situations, movements, combinations, and the transition from standing to groundwork. Players are also supported to develop their own toki-waza (preferred technique) and strategies as we explore the competitive aspects of Judo, and the rules of the sport. Standing and groundwork randori will conclude each session, to allow players to confidently develop their fighting skills.
